Grading and Futurity Training

Adrian gained most of his experience and expertise handling and producing stallions when he spent 2 years working for Paul Schockemohle in Germany. Both Adrian and Vikki are passionate about supporting and improving British Breeding and are huge enthusiasts of the British Equestrian Federations annual Young Horse Evaluations.

It's becoming apparent that there are some amateur British breeders of quality young horses who don't know where to turn for help in producing them correctly, this being particularly true of young stallions. Here at Classic Showjumpers we want to share our knowledge and experience and help such breeders, firstly so that they continue to breed horses for British sport and secondly so these horses have the best possible chance of reaching their full potential.

While attending the 2009 Young Horse Futurity , Adrian and Vikki were surprised at the lack of preparation, education and condition of some of the horses presented to the judges - a problem which never occurs at the gradings and young horse shows in Europe.

The BEF Futurity Organisational Team say " Vikki and Adrian bought their young stallion, Handels Classic, to the Futurity Evaluation in 2009 and attained, by quite a margin, the highest score for a three year old in that year. This is in part due to the horses considered breeding and in part due to his handling, preparation and production which enabled him to present his natural talent to the best of his ability" .

Celia Argent of Zilver Stud, France says " Adrian and Vikki have had our stallions and young mares on numerous occasions and we have always been most satisfied with their level of training and care" .
